Video 12 - Hungary Preview

Sidepodcast TV logo

It’s been 12 months since Jenson Button won his first Grand Prix. This season’s not been as kind on the Englishman, but with a bit of luck the weather might be changeable and Christine’s favourite bloke might, just might, stand a chance of bagging some points at the Hungaroring.

Qualifying well here is almost as important as it is in Monaco, so Saturday afternoon is when all the action will happen. On a dry day, there’s not much to recommend about this dusty circuit - overtaking opportunities are few and far between, meaning strategy is everything.

Great preview, liked the incidental music and I always enjoy those virtual laps of the circuit. But, Christine… the espionage thing is over? Maybe you know something I don’t, but I think that one will run for a long time yet. ;)

I did a post on you guys last night - you might want to check it to see if you want to sue me or anything… :D

awww shucks, we’re gonna have a whole heap of trouble with this one. also had a youtube comment saying the same thing.

in short, we filmed the video at the beginning of the week. videos take a while to produce and by the time we released this one, the news was out of date.

we had a great interview with Scott Speed to play too, but he was obviously out of the sport days before this was ready for release. lots of work in the bin.

there’s a lesson here about featuring fast changing news in long-lead-time videos…. and it’s been duly noted

…and many thanks for your post

    :)

you raise a fine, fine point about the iTunes link vs. the play button. we need to make it even easier to listen, and rest assured we’re already working on it. think of it as our mid-season ‘B’ spec chassis!

I didn’t say the whole thing was over, I said the hearing was over and Ferrari were not happy with the result.

I also said it was an ongoing battle.

I’m absolutely positive we’ll be commenting about this in months to come and I can’t wait!! :)

You’re quite right, Christine; having listened again, you did indeed say the hearing was over, rather than the whole espionage thing. My apologies.

As regards the iTunes/Play button links, I think my mistake was just the product of old age and confusion in the face of new technology - most would see the play button straight away, I’m sure. For the benefit of old fogies, it might be an idea to change the colour of the button to something more likely to draw attention, however. Just a suggestion. ;)

    “fast changing news”

Don’t beat yerself up: it can be very interesting to hear a POV a couple of days afterwards.

Being five hours behind: I’m often late on UK/European news and you get a similar type of thing listening to newspodcasts.
