It’s the last race of the 2007 season, and three drivers still in with a shot at the title, so it’s going to be a corker! We at Sidepodcast are a little bit sad though, because it means this is the final race preview for a while. In order to go out in style, we’ve pulled out all the stops to bring you the freshest news, an in-depth track guide and the state of play at the top of the tables.

Don’t miss the very last ING Race Index of the season as well as checking in with Alex Wurz on why he’s missing this last hurrah in Sao Paulo.

We’re Demob happy, so join us, won’t you?

[...] The track is one of only few anticlockwise circuits on the F1 calendar putting some extra strain on the neck muscles of the drivers. The track has 13 turns (9 left and 4 right) and combines 2 long straights with corners of different nature. The other famous feature of this track is the bumpy surface. However the track was resurfaced recently with same compound as used at Spa and allegedly the bumps mostly disappeared. This means the driver can expect slippery track and the set up requirements may be different than in previous years. Here comes the video preview from Sidepodcast.tv [...]

Brill as always. What will I do now that the F1 season is over and I’ll have no more videos to look forward to? Are you interested in doing a NASCAR or A1GP podcast? Hehe.

    GO KIMI GO!!!!

Chris, you might drink more champagne than our Finnish friend, but I’m sure he has both you and I beat in the vodka department.

Woohoo! Kimi did it! I have to run to the liquor store and buy a bottle of Finlandia before Ferrari buys it all for his party!

Great that Kimi did it! Wish I had shares in Finlandia. Now what will McLaren do with Alonso!

That was a heart stopping race. I was pretty nervous those last few laps with Nico and Robert going at it. I was sure they were going to take each other out and give the championship to Lewis. I’ll be happy having the #1 and #2 cars in Ferrari next year.

It would have been nice to mention that the race circuit has been resurfaced recently. I.e. the comments about circuit about being bumpy and uneven may not be as appropriate as in previous years.

cheers Bertold, however we didn’t actually know about the changes, when this was written.

in the past, whenever the Brazilian circuit was due to be re-surfaced, a bit of road got repaired here and there, and mostly it made no difference.

this year however, they seemed to get it right.

mike doodson has some good insight on this:

Every couple of years, therefore, someone persuades the city to front up with a few million to resurface the track. For a week or two, a gang of workmen with a wheelbarrow and a roller spread a bit of asphalt around, while most of the money mysteriously disappears.

This year, though, things were different

President Max even sent his own Mr Fixit, north eastern hard man Alan Donnelly, to check that things were being done properly.

next time they say the track is being re-surfaced, we’ll take more notice.

Now have your say...
