An episode brought to you by the power of over-the-counter drugs, we’re both ill but determined to cover the topics of the week.
Intro
Is it man-flu if I caught it off him?
Good Week / Bad Week
One team has a good week of testing, whilst another has a bad week, and Fernando Alonso has both.
News and Views
We share two excellent comments on the new stewarding rules, and discuss what we’ve seen in magazines recently (including some recognisable faces in Autosport a couple of weeks ago)! Also the Kimi Raikkonen official podcast, if you can call it that, and how Honda and Renault are making the most of the internet before the season even starts.

Speaking of autosport international there is a program on at about 2 or 3 this morning on motors tv on sky about the event. i wonderd if it would interest you. Hope you get well soon!

it certainly would. however, we don’t get motors tv!
any idea why it’s not on Autosport TV? seems like the natural home for it.

I don’t know, that thought did cross my mind. I may well have been at some time, this could just be a repeat Or maybe it will be shown on autosport tv. I will record it and once i have watched it i will fill you in if there is anything interesting. Apprantly they have exclusive interviews with some of the itv crew including Ted! It may be interesting to hear some of his views on the last season and the next.

sounds good, cheers.
if per chance it coincidentally happened to turn up later on youtube, well that would be dandy too
i did not suggest that though. shhh.

Thanks for the mention on the podcast.
I also thought it seemed odd that Tony_Scott_Andrews ‘retired’ after only two years in the job. The only reason I can come up with is that maybe he disagreed with some of the decisions made about things like the cool fuel saga or he was put under pressure to make decisions that he didn’t like. I cannot see that this was planned as there would have been discussion about it last season. The net is already full of Max saying he will make a decision on re-election in October so I cannot see that TSA’s departure would not have been discussed.
What live data to Renault supply? I am not aware of this service.
Hope you both get over the man-flu soon.

last season, the team offered members of the fan club the opportunity to watch live telemetry data coming from both of their cars. the stream contained masses of information, including steering angle and gear selection.
we went into detail back in show 15, and then went into more detail recently.
if they do the same thing this year, we’d recommend the service to everyone.

I need to build myself a pitwall. I already use f1.com live timing and have a stream feed to cover the breaks(not very successful yet) and occasionally a chat room running. If I add the Renault data I may need to hire an assistant to help me watch the races.

I listened to the piece on the Renault data. It sounds really interesting. If you are looking for live TV coverage of practise try http://pages.tvunetworks.com/ and select channel 10108 Wheels. This is the Speed TV feed from the states.
They have fabulous commentators who work on the basis that the audience understands the sport and doesn’t feel the need to explain that when they said tyre that they meant the round black bit in each corner. F1 without James Allen. Bliss. Sometimes the TVU stream can be a bit patchy but it is worth putting up with occasional poor picture quality etc just to have access.

Great work guys, hope you two feel better soon!
On the Official Kimi podcast, I managed to get my voice and message of support on it, I think I’m the 3rd one. But yeah, it’s an odd podcast lol just messages from fans but you can do all that on the forum!

Hmm, Honda seem to be trying ‘alternative’ ways of winning in f1. What is wrong with winning races? They should really worry about the car, and not the other stuff that is surrounding it.
