Malaysia: Free Practice 1
So here were are again. Just seven short days after the first free practice session of the season and we’re just about to witness another one.
I’m not completely sold on whether I like the idea of back-to-back races to get the season underway. It almost feels like we’re rushing headlong into things without ever having chance to properly digest what we’ve witnessed.
Regardless, the F1 teams have relocated to the Sepang circuit and are ready and waiting for the first track action of the weekend. The predicted rain is foremost in our minds, but at the moment the asphalt is bone dry.
Just like last week, we’ll be watching all the action on the ITV live stream, but after the highs of last weeks F1 internet streaming debut, the broadcaster must’ve wondered what in the world hit them today.
Live timing is available as always on Bernie’s site.
I’m guessing that given the later starting time in Europe this weekend, that things will be a bit quieter amongst the comments today… but feel free to prove me wrong.
If you’re up and about, please drop us a message, let us know where you are and how you’re following. As before, we’ll be commenting bits and pieces of information and that’ll go to make up tomorrows F1 Digest podcast.
90 minutes of action coming right up.

Im here, as always. Did not even bother going to sleep - too much effort getting back up again! Im gonna be following as you are live timing and ITV feed.
No i don’t think i like the back to back weekend. I mean its great that we finally get to see all this racing, but after last weeks grand prix i think it would have been better for the 2 weeks. But thats a decision made from last weeks gp.

Exactly. On the other hand I’ve seen him listed by a number of people as one of the drivers set to struggle without traction control. He wasn’t as quick as Kimi in pre-season testing, although in fairness he seems to have a reasonable ability to adapt. His driving style now is very different to the one he employed at Sauber.

yeah that’s true. but we get loads of correspondance for fans overseas, so the more f1 aligns with european timezones, the worse off they’ll be.
in truth, of the two, i’d probably go with media temple right now. mainly because they support PHP5, and fasthosts don’t.
not sure we have a code, but we appreciate the thought
March 21st, 2008 at 4:08 amScott Dryden said:
Yeah, although power napping is generally to supplement regular sleep, whereas this is a whole new sleep system. I have actually done it in the past, although only for very short periods (a few days at a time). I can definitely recommend it though compared to getting a two-hour nap between practice sessions. It’s considerably easier to wake up from, and I have always awoken pretty refreshed.
Doing it over longer periods is harder, though. Whilst right now I could take or leave a twenty minute nap, you do get to the point where you end up having to sleep, whatever. That could be fine, although if you have other commitments then it will be a problem. For example, employers might not appreciate you taking a 20 minute nap at 3pm. hehe

Thanks Brendan, But HostMonster.com is the hosting company that I will be sacking soon. One of my test accounts was deactivated by them last Sunday for breach of ‘Terms of Service’, The site is run on one of their own One-Click Wordpress installs and only had 77 hits the day before, and it had only used about 600mb of the claimed 3,000Gb of bandwidth for this month.
I have been emailing them all week but as yet have not heard back from them or had the account reactivated.
Glad at least that you are a happy user, I really wish I could say the same.
