Formula One makes its 2008 European debut, as teams take the battle to Barcelona. Now armed with their luxury motorhomes and familiar transporters, as well as coming off the back of a four day test, there’ll be no excuse for failure this weekend.
So join Sidepodcast as we get Nico Rosberg’s thoughts on racing in Spain, look back at what happened at the Circuit de Catalunya last year, and take a trip around the sweeping curves of the Montmeló circuit.
Special thanks to Allianz SE, Toyota Motorsports GmbH, Red Bull Racing, Honda Racing F1 and RTV GmbH for the use of their video footage and photographs.

eeee! I can’t wait till the Grand Prix. I am really in need of some racing, and live commenting!
Ok not the most exciting track! But I am excited about seeing the effects of the new updates however small they may be. Its been too long since the last race! Also we are back to the usual time! The F1 season is well and truly back.

Agreed Lou! You would have thought the winter break was long enough, but 3 races in and they need a 3 week break already!?!
Once the first practice session gets underway tomorrow, my F1 hunger will be satisfied.

am guessing this means christine will be working again tomorrow.
christine… you pulling a sicky to spend the day watching ITV and live commenting, or are we duty bound to be your eyes and ears again?

I will have the numbers and the blog, and I can see the ITV video but I can’t hear it, and I can only glance at it occasionally.
So eyes and ears as well please

Your luckier than I’m going to be tomorrow Christine, I’m going to be stuck sorting out the 3 years worth of till rolls and paperwork for a local charity shop all day tomorrow so will miss both Friday practice sessions.
The shops only technology is a dial up Amstrad eMailer phone, so will have to rely on Twitter via my mobile for any major updates. So please don’t let me down ‘me’

Say Christine, you wouldn’t happen to get some of your footage from rtv-live.de, would you?
April 24th, 2008 at 11:19 pmme said:
will certainly try.
not sure i understand? we’ve linked to them in this very post, why else would we do that?
we also credit the site at the end of almost every video and on every video blog entry. or are you saying we’ve overpromoted them?
April 24th, 2008 at 11:45 pmScott Woodwiss said:
no no no, I only said that because I recognised some of the footage from your inside track videos and I just wondered. I guess I must have missed the name in your credits at the end. That’s all

‘me’, you said earlier on your twitter post that motors TV were saying you did not have the rights to use some of their footage, or something like that.
Do you know why they said that? I think i may have an idea why. In the times before sidepodcast TV I used to watch a preview programme on Motors TV called ‘Inside Grand Prix’. It featured similar footage etc. Maybe that is where they got it from? Whatever it was I hope it sorts itself out, and does not cause any trouble for you or Christine, as there is nothing worse than being caused trouble unnecessarily.
April 24th, 2008 at 11:51 pmScott Woodwiss said:
I think you’ll find, Lou, that the footage is exactly the same, because RTV is the company that produces Inside Grand Prix. Maybe Motors TV are unaware that you can actually download the footage from their website, which requires you to register first before doing so.
But you might have known that already…
April 24th, 2008 at 11:52 pmScott Woodwiss said:
*RTV’s website, that is, not Motors TV’s

Thanks ‘me’, or have we gone with Mr Blachford yet?
So how many places do we think Christine’s beloved SidePodCast Racers are going to drop in the league this weekend? I say at least 6. I know the practice session hasn’t even started yet and we, sorry me, I’m already making fun of her team, but at least SidePodCast Racers can’t have as bad a weekend as Super Aguri, can’t think it’s going to be a very pleasant weekend for them. At least they came always pop round to new best neighbours McLaren for a cupper.

No problem. I stumbled upon it while searching around Allianz’s F1 section and they had the link there on the side of the page. So I clicked and it took me to the said page.

Given the impact speed of Sidepodcast Racers plunge down the standings I say that going to be some massive crater at the end. Here’s hoping the planet does not fall into an mini-ice age from all the dust kicked up blocking out the sun….
Course if Christine where to give Button the boot, the meteor that represents Chrisitne’s hopes of winnin gthis Championship just might gaze the planet…
