F1 Digest - Spain Free Practice

Sidepodcast F1 Digest logo

A day of two halves, with the first Free Practice session a dull 90 minutes and the second a mad dash seeing many drivers at the top of the timesheets.

Free Practice 1

After installation laps from all but the Ferrari’s, we had to wait for twenty minutes before there was any action. However, anything that did happen is covered here.

Free Practice 2

How many drivers can top the timesheets in one session? This second practice may be pushing at the world record!

Conclusions

A rundown of all the teams, with some saying they took the wrong path when it comes to setup, others saying they had a good day, and a final group saying conditions are just completely different to the test last week.

With the last F1 Digest episode, I learnt a lot about what you guys would like in terms of last year vs this year balance.

So, this time around, I’m tweaking things and testing out some more, by covering ALL the teams in the conclusions section. Usually, I would just pick a select few, the ones with the most interesting things to say.

How does this grab ya? Personally, I feel like it’s a lot of me talking (and I mean me, not “me”, obviously), but it does seem a fairer way of covering the sessions.

Your feedback, as ever, is requested :)

I really liked this show. How you managed to get all the important facts of FP2 into a very small space of time I don’t know. I liked that every team was covered. Whether it will be as interesting if the session is a bit more predictable than FP2 is another matter but for today’s running it was perfect.

Hey guys, after qualifying, and if i can get the live channel feed on the ITV website, does anyone want me to do a live blog of the GP2 race? ;)

You could do the GP2 Live comment thing on your blog and just put a link to it here. It would be interesting to see comments but people on here may still be commenting on Quali when the GP2 race is no, so things here could get confusing if you started Live commenting on GP2 on the same post, but doing Live Comments on your own blog would be a good idea. WordPress.com should be able to cope fine with the traffic.

Best of Luck, but will probable see you on here for FP3 and Quali

The rundown of all teams was a very good idea. Hope you decide to keep it! Too bad many of the teams’ reactions consist of the corporate BS we get every day.

    Cheers,
    Michael
