Inside Track - Istanbul

Sidepodcast TV logo

Formula 1 returns to Turkey much earlier in the season this year. In fact it barely feels like we’ve been away. This change of schedule is likely to cause problems for the teams, with reduced tyre temperatures being a significant problem.

Join Sidepodcast as we look ahead to this weekends race, back at the events that unfolded last year and also catch up on the current state of the championship. You’ll probably not be surprised to see Nico Rosberg turn up somewhere too.

Additionally, this episode of Inside Track features special guest, and competition winner Scott Woodwiss, who does a sterling job of commenating on a hot lap around the Istanbul Otodrom.

Special thanks to Allianz SE, Toyota Motorsports GmbH, Red Bull Racing, Honda Racing F1 and RTV GmbH for the use of their video footage and photographs.

couple of points re: the show this week.

    - firstly many thanks to scott for his commentary submission, we love it!

    - i am aware that the last 3 seconds are missing from the video, will fix first thing in the morning.

    - apologies this show is so late arriving, we’re trying to bring in new things (like the sector map on the lap), but this week it took more time than planned.

    - haven’t got around to uploading to third party sites yet.

wow, that I wasn’t expecting :D Thank you for that, i’d forgotten all about the commentary thing. I must admit there were one or two bits in there I could have made better, but thanks anyway! :)

Just watched the video, thought it was as good as ever and Scots commentary was great.I’m glad i didn’t get round to going up against him in the contest, my commentary would have been rubbish.
Now then, i’ve got a question for you : tern 8.Is it tern 8 leading down to tern 9.Or - and this is going by Autosports Istanbul track map - does ‘tern 9′ start by being called tern 7, then tern 8, then the last part tern 9?.Tern 10 then becomes the first corner after the short straight?. Also i thought it was in four parts - i have even called it a quadruple apex in my post - and i have also changed the number name twice!, i’m confused, can you help me out here sidepodcast. Personally i like to call it - just as Scott has done in his commentary - tern 8, the whole quadruple apex. Then the next tern would be 9. Is it tern 7-8-9, or just tern 8?.

Agreed - I thought Scott’s commentry was really good, the idea also worked but it is a lot of work, doing the research, collecting your thoughts and then getting your voice recorded.

tis very true. we didn’t do a great job of pushing the competition and the deadline was probably a bit tight. not sure if we should do something similar later in the year or not?

I will second what Lou says - go for it. Sidepodcast is a great social network. Using Skype messages, having competitions adds value and makes for even more of a community.

I shared my commentary inclusion with my good friends at the Real Life Batracer community. Unfortunately, one of them decided to take it too far. I won’t say what he said, but if you check http://www.drop.io/sidepodcast, you’ll see a pic of his comment that I posted.

    ……yeah :P

    Apologies, Christine.

yeah i know, i’m really sorry about that. They can sometimes let their minds run a bit. I had no idea they would say anything like that. I apologise on their behalf too.

Now have your say...
