Live Commenting: Monaco - Free Practice 3
It’s Saturday morning and the big news for today is that Monaco experienced rain during the evening. At the moment the track is still wet and you can see for yourself on the Casino Square webcam.
In addition weather.com are suggesting there’s a 70% chance of rain again during the day (increasing to 90%) for tomorrow.
What will this mean for the F1 cars and free practice today? In short it’s likely to be chaos, but maybe only after the teams have played their usual game of who’s-brave-enough-to-leave-it-latest. I’m guessing this is the last place teams and drivers want to run 2008 spec cars in the wet, we’re in for a spectacular two days!
Not for the first time I’ll mention that we’ll be following live timing online, and as ITV either can’t or won’t cover this session, it’s TVlizer coverage for us today.
Update: For some reason, as pointed out by Dank in the comments below, 5Live appear to prefer broadcasting commentary of the cricket this morning. Great timing guys!
If you’re up and about today do say “hello” and give us all your thoughts / wild predictions for what may happen during this final 60 minute practice session.

It’s not on 5Live Extra this morning as cricket is on instead.

oh what? aww that sucks, they’re so damn inconsistent, and they always pick the worst times to “go to the cricket”. i worry about next year’s coverage, i really do.

Im not sure if you have read autosports live commentry on the weather today, it has a nice summery. Incidedntly this is a pretty cool link too. Showing the cloads moving across france. It actually helps a tiny bit with my geography revision too
Im not sure if this comment with sink or swim….

Lou,
I think it is way too early to write off Massa, he is very quick: all he needs to learn is some consistency and some mental strength and he could be a long time success.
I think those two WDC’s Alonso has had, will be it. By the time 2010 comes around: BMW will be chomping at the bit. Ferrari don’t have a divine right to win.

They really need to get their act together pretty quick: they’ve been an expensive disaster so far. Honda didn’t used to have a history of providing limitless expense if they weren’t winning.

They are soon gonna concentrate efforts on the 2009 car, they are the first to have tested a version of KERS, and they have Ross Brawn (whose effects will really only show in 2009). They are off to a good start. Also look at how much they have improved since the winter.
Its all encouraging stuff. There is still hope for my favourate team
