As a complete contrast to the last race in Magny-Cours, the British GP at Silverstone seems to conjure up a lot of confidence and emotion in many of the drivers, even those for whom it is not their home event. There’s also the added bonus of having a three day test the week before the event to make sure they’re all fully focused.

In a sense it sort of is, because McLaren, Honda, Red Bull, Force India, Williams and Renault all are based in the UK. :)

last year i think he announced an extension to his contract on the rbr stage at silverstone. am sort of expecting him to announce the reverse in a similar manner.

i can’t remember where i said it, but after he crashed out at monaco, david was sitting in the garages with headphones on, and it just looked immediately natural. much more than say schumi hanging around the pitwall.

the boy’s not done yet, he’ll just move onto other projects.

makes sense. would be nice to think the team can give him just one more podium before then.

It’s on Autosport now. He’ll be staying on as a consultant for the team. Good for RBR. They get his knowledge an expertise gained over the years whilst also giving Vettel a chance.

We lost our GP here in the US and it looks like we won’t get it back next year.

Have fun and I look forward to hearing your reports Cristine.

quite. it’s like the smallest token effort they could possibly make.

it’ll look daft on track too.

I was going to say that I thought me had already retired, but that would just be mean. So how many people think that now DC is finally retiring he will actually get some decent result from now on?

@Christine, I think you have just found my dream job, I want to be the guy who gets to put the sticker’s on the car. I like my postit notes to all line up and I think I could get the sticker on to the car to within a tenth of a millimetre, do you think that would be close enough for them. I wonder what the tolerances for placing the sticker on are?

@me, so how much are the Brooklands Suites’s for the test days? Maybe SidePodCast fans who are going could club together to hire a suite for next year. I will be making sure I join the Silverstone Racing Club in the new year to qualify for the 2009 British GP, Great tip ‘me’

Glad to see your Facebook group followers have increased so well, talking of increasing, congrats on nearly reaching 7,500 comments for June, with 7,483 comments over 51 post, that’s an average of 146.7 comments per post. There can’t be that many podcasts that have that amount of comments.

For info, May had 5,322 comments for 50 posts, average 106.4 per post, and April had 3,743 comments for 37 posts, average 101.1 per post. I wonder how long it will be before you get your first 10,000 comments in a month?

Can’t wait to meet Christine’s mother-in-law over this weekend, plus really looking forward to seeing what gossip we can get about you two out of her. Mum’s just love talking about they kids and embarrassing them, so hope Christine’s mother-in-law is the same.

the question is, how good are you at wallpapering?

bubbles are the bane of an f1-stickerer’s life. apparently they wreck the aero and much mickey-taking ensures if one appears.

so how much are the Brooklands Suites’s for the test days?

£120 pp, so damn pricey. details in dropio:

talking of which, only 5 more needed :)

I’m actually really good at wallpapering, even though I have never wallpapered or even painted my own home due to always renting, but friends/ex-girlfriends are always asking me to help, ie do it by myself, them with their wallpapering, and I never get bubbles. Plus I’m really cheap, just pay travel cost and keep me feed and watered for the day and I’m yours. So does that mean I can have the F1 stick on car job?

£120 pp, so damn pricey. details in dropio:

WOW, £105 for the year I can do, but £120 per person is high, or is that for all 3 test days?

That should put a nice smile on Christine’s face if/when you get to 300over this weekend then.

oh. i may not have thought this through.

No I don’t think you have, because you know we will be asking her for lots of personal gossip. When if comes to talking about there own kids, mothers just don’t seem to have an off switch, and telling them not to talk about you just seems to make them want to embarrass you even more, like the time when you went to toilet in the middle of a supermarket, I was only 4 and at least I used a potty that was on display in the household department. It’s the first thing my mum tells every girlfriend/soon to be ex-girlfriend I have had that she has been allowed to meet. So she doesn’t get to meet many of them these days. Oh, did I say I was only FOUR?

well, you’ve set out your stall. if any f1 teams are reading…

    per day i believe.
