Remember, Remember
Please do not forget to update your Fantasy Racers team.
I’ve had a look at mine, and you’ll be pleased to know I have given it some thought. Not serious thought, but I did assign at least five minutes to the decision making process.
I wanted someone from McLaren and someone from Ferrari. I’m not good at predicting things, and I like to hedge my bets. From Ferrari, I picked Raikkonen, because, you know, it’s wet.
Last time I had a full team of Germans, and I liked seeing all those similar flags in a row. So today, I chose the only other Finn on offer. Kovalainen. Finnish and at McLaren – he satisfies both criteria.
And finally, as I had some cash left over, I threw Bourdais into the mix. You never know, he might bring me some luck.
Go and update your team now, or if you haven’t signed up yet, visit FantasyRacers.com. I’m currently 116th, so everyone still has a chance of beating me.

Ah, well, I thought of that too.
I decided that of all the drivers I could bring bad luck to, Bourdais already has plenty enough of his own, so he probably won’t even notice.

I’m keeping the team I’ve already got. Whether this will avail me at all is another matter entirely.

I have changed my line up so that it incorporates Webber. I don’t trust the Renault engine… So i have replaced Alonso.
Sutil failed to impress me in FP2 so I have replaced him with Jenson

I just logged onto fantasyracers.com for the first time since setting it up pre season. I’m coming 1380th and haven’t changed drivers once. I’d love to hear from anyone else that hasn’t touched their line up since the start (or those that have and are going worse!)

I’ve posted my provisional practise-qualifying-race comparitor, and decided to change my choices round as a result:
Massa (predicted 1st in race)
Vettel (predicted 6th in race)
Rosberg (predicted 7th in race)
Webber (predicted 8th in race)
Sutil (predicted 16th… …but is predicted to be the higher-finishing Force India driver, plus he’s the cheapest driver out there)

Bourdais???? WHY???? The guy has one of the worst last 5 race average of all the drivers apart from Fisichella. We’re not really counting Sutil are we??
I didn’t join the FantasyRacers till just before the 2nd race, but to later for my team, Racing4Last, to get any points from that race. Apart from sacking Bourdais after the 4th race and hiring Trulli my team has remained the same with Heidfeld, Kubica, Webber, Trulli and Glock. If I hadn’t missed out on the points from the first 2 race’s, with Bourdais for the first 4 races and Trulli for the last 5, I would now have 4,385 points, which would have but me first in the SidePodCast League, and 2nd overall, so instead of my team being a complete failure and being at totally the wrong end of the table from where it was meantt to be, ie LAST, I’m stuck in the middle at 62nd and 947th, so my Team doesn’t get any coverage for being either first or last.
If you want to get publicity in F1 you have to be either first or last, so from a marketing point of view Sutil is probably getting his team far more publicity per $million than any of the mid field drivers are getting for their teams. Now many times does Sutil and Force India get mentioned on SidePodCast.com compared to Nakajima and Williams? How many of you even remembered that Nakajima was still in F1?
