Take A Look At Yourself And Then Make A Change

Please do not forget to update your Fantasy Racers team.

Ah, it’s that time of the week again, where we must review our Fantasy Racers selections.

I have done some extensive research, and evaluated all the drivers comparitively during Free Practice 1 in Hungary. I have decided upon, drum roll please, a completely arbitrary selection. You knew that already, though, didn’t you?

Here’s mine:

Driver   Price
Sutil   3.90
Fisichella   5.50
Trulli   6.00
Bourdais   5.10
Vettel   5.20
Glock   5.80
Total   31.50

My thought process this time was to pick the cheapest drivers and stack my team full of them. Discounting the Super Aguri boys (because even I’m not crazy enough to choose a driver that’s not even racing), I started at the cheapest - Sutil - and kept clicking the next most expensive driver until I ran out of cash. I’m quite annoyed I have some money left over, but I don’t want to spoil the system.

So, don’t forget to visit Fantasy Racers and update your team, or sign up if you haven’t already and want to feel the satisfaction of beating Sidepodcast Racers. Let us know what your team is in the comments, and feel free to poke fun at my selection.

Interesting strategy Christine, even if none of them score points, you’ll get loads of points for them just finishing. You could end up with loaddddssss of points.

    My team

    Kovalainen
    Button
    Webber
    Kubica

although all could change depending on FP2.

Christine, you need to get rid of Bourdais and buy the next one up the price guide. Bourdais is just not worth that kind of money at the moment.

But apart from Bourdais, it’s quiet a good team that should get you some points. I have to say that as we both have Trulli and Glock so I’m hoping that at least those two out of your drivers do well. Just swap out Bourdais and your be fine.

He didn’t do too badly in FP1, besides, that would ruin the system. :)

I’m assuming that at some point I will run out of random selection tactics and actually have to put some thought into it ;)

I was trying to be polite to Christine about picking Bourdais but ’some kind of crazy’ does seem to sum this way of picking drivers up quiet nicely. especially if it means having to have Bourdais.

But you can still by pass certain drivers though, like the Super Aguri boys and BOURDAIS!!! but if he does wins I will buy both you and ‘me’ a pint, I think my money may be safe though. Good Luck

There are loads of random selection tactics left yet. You could pick the oldest drivers, then the youngest, the lowest race numbers and the highest, the longest names and the shortest, the first alphabetically and then the last, the most efficient according to your spread sheet and the least. There is no need for your brain ever to have to worry about your selection.

    Good theory!
I changed my team again to Sutil, Massa, Trulli, Webber and Vettel. All (except sutil) are good qualifiers.
If i do well then a big thank you!

    I went with:

    Alonso
    Webber

Rocket, if you click “Join Private League”, there’s a screen to join Sidepodcast. It’s league 118, password franck (a driver Christine likes).

For Christine’s plan to work you just need all of them to complete the race and a good cache of points is secured - anyway I once had that combination and it got me some points.

I intend to stick with the combination that got me my highest score of the season in Germany.

    Hamilton
    Kovalainen
    Heidfeld

Has anyone else noticed that poor Christine has bandages wrapped around her right foot and what appear to be gunpower burns at her right thigh? I think that even the friend of the celebrated Sherlock Holmes, Dr. Waston, could reasonably concluded that Christine has shot herself in the foot.

But that’s elementary. The bigger question, Holmes, is where it was cause by her selection of Bourdais, Setil, or Fisichella.

    And the game is afoot.

    Greetings, Lestrade!

Considering that Bourdais has scored more points to the present time than Sutil I would think there is some fault in your logic somewhere. It could easily be Sutil which has cuased Christine to shoot herself in the foot.

but when Sutil came into F1 we all, including him knew he would be at the back. Bourdais was meant to be the next big thing from across the pond who was going to show all the F1 boys how to win races. So as far as Christine’s foot goes it’s pretty safe woth Sutil, but with Bourdais we had better buy poor Christine some crutches fast.

Didn’t the ITV guys go on about how good Bourdais would be just before the start his first race and proved how wrong they where?

Sutil is a great little driver, but we know that going into that car would mean he would be at the back, hopefully he will get a better car soon to prove himself with.

When did he start not doing so well then? I used to have him in my Fantasy Racers team for the first 4 races, but I don’t really count the first race as a true guide to the sessions performance, Raikkonen, Massa, Webber, Trulli, all did fairly badly in the first race, but have since picked up and gone pass Bourdais, so was the first race really Bourdais doing well, or some of the other main drivers just not having a good session opener? It just makes it hard to tell what the session is going to be like.

    Fantasy Racers points for Sébastien Bourdais, r1-95, r2-0, r3-56, r4-7, r5-24, r6-7, r7-69, r8-69, r9-59, r10-67 Total so far-453

the first race was chaos, so bourdais did well to keep his nose clean before the car gave up on him. after that his racecraft took a beating.

oh, I do not know about Bourdais bring the grestest thing since bread. I do remeber saying that his reactions should be off by about 7 seconds a lap at Montreal, such is the difference in speed in champcar and F1. With the then IRL/Champcar split I was not impressed with anyone on this side of the Atlantic, as the field was just too diluted. I also remeber the hype that Michael Andretti, Juan Pablo Montoya, and Alex (Alessandro) Zanardi where supposed to bring to F1….

But who knows, maybe is Fisichella’s fault, or maybe the planets are alined and there’s lunar eclipse, and Christine has picked off the top six at the Hun-bore-o-ring…

    {okay, you can stop laughing now …. it was NOT THAT FUNNY …. your face is turning blue …. STOP IT NOW! }

Now have your say...
