The Podcast Formerly Known as Weekly
A couple of shows in, and we’re starting to get our heads round what we’re doing in these live shows. Today we’ll be talking to Scott Woodwiss, amongst the other usual chatter, so it’s a good week to join in the fun.
This week we’re also doing a bit of re-branding, so tune in to find out how the various podcasts will stack up for the rest of the season.
We’re planning to go live a bit later than normal, about 6pm BST (thank goodness Top Gear has finished). You’re more than welcome to join us in the comments if you can. Just click the red logo in the corner to be directed to the Live Commenting Live… Thing. See you there.

PS. Me remember that thing I was talking about that you couldn’t see which was that the live comments live… thing wasn’t lining up at the bottom. It was because of the smileys being taller than the text line height. It only happened in Firefox. You can see it happening in this thread in firefox on the mac as well (I had thought it was PC only). Just so you know…
It isn’t cruical. I will just switch to Safari

soz, it’s on me list, along with fixing the segmented image in IE. have disabled smilies for this afternoon.
hopefully that’ll help.
August 31st, 2008 at 4:12 pmAlex Andronov said:
Ah cheers! You don’t need to disable it. I just hadn’t realised that you’d be able to see it. So I was just mentioning it for that reason.
Clearly Christine needs to do another mini series and get the beer in. Otherwise you’ll never be able to make that version where you can drag things around like on the BBC homepage

Love the new commenting screen thingy as well, feels like I’ve been left in the 3rd Century while everyone else is in the 21st…
As for the six pm, going out for our dinner, but the service is usually quick so in theory I should be back in time.

Unbelievable as it may sound they are going to tear down the old market building which were used as the pits at Valencia. They were one of the few interesting features in a mass of concrete. No doubt they will replaced with a state of the art facility. You know you are an F1 fan when every time you hear the phrase ’state of the art facility’ you want to punch Max and Bernie.

Now you would need either a serious boost limit or 600cc engines.
Turbos are a lot quieter because the turbo interupts the exhaust exit

Evening all,
I was planning to tune in live but we’ve had a bit of emergency today – the dishwasher has broken!
Hope it’s going/went okay.
Just to add my tuppence worth about the pronoun business from the other day, what really gets my goat is the abuse of the reflexive personal pronoun. Politicians and sportspeople do it all the time: saying “myself” when what they actually mean is “me” or even “I”.

I’m all for Danica in F1. But as many others have said, she would have to be successful, otherwise it won’t make a difference, just like Speed.

Danica would probably need a GP2 season to be completely ready for F1 (she’d have to have time to get used to the European racing culture), but after that she’d probably make it in F1.

Kimi can function quite well even when bored. The thing is that he’s not exceptional when he’s bored. But I’m not sure it’s boredom so much as inconsistency - or are they two manifestations of the same thing?
