F1 Digest - Singapore GP

Sidepodcast F1 Digest logo

What was already an exciting weekend has culminated in a stunning race with more incidents than we’ve seen for a long time. We also got yet another new race winner.

The Race

A much cleaner start than we were expecting, but the action was just saved for later as first Piquet and then Sutil brought out the Safety Car. All the pit stop action meant that Hamilton lost time, Massa lost his dignity, and Alonso lost his losing streak.

Conclusions

Everyone felt like it was a difficult day, especially because it was hot, it was long, and tiring. Really, everything boiled down to where you were at the pit stops, and our drivers tell us how they’re feeling after a lottery of a day.

Massa’s messy pitstop was the pit-related thing I’ve laughed at in quite a while. Laughed pretty hard too. I was out for the 2nd half though, got back for the podium, still, boooooo.

Downloading the race now though, it was uploaded pretty fast, so there’s a heads up if anyone else wants to get it :P

So why is there a Digest commenting page so close to the Debrief show if the Race page is still in full swing?

I could be being very forgetful here but did you mention any comments in this show? If not, was there any specific reason why?

    Great show as always :)

There just wasn’t time to go through 2000+ comments, considering what an incident-packed race it was anyway.

The question is, did you feel like you were missing out because there weren’t any?

I didn’t think of that. yeah i can imagine going through 2,000 comments might take up some time :)

I noticed that something was different, hence me asking, but i didn’t feel like the podcast was worse for not having them or anything…

I read all the comments here before I listened to the show so I was aware there were no comments. Still didn’t miss them though. I guess for Valencia and Barcelona etc you need lots of comments but for races like this there is enough to talk about. A lot of the comments used seem to be comedic to lighten the mood but when Ferrari’s own version of the Keystone Cops is providing the comedy there is nothing anyone could have said in the comments that would have been any funnier.

Now have your say...
