Sidepodpanel – The Giggles

Sidepodcast logo

The second edition of the popular Sidepodpanel, and our inaugural episode with a guest host. Alex Andronov takes the helm and discusses the upcoming championship decider, plus green F1 and Kovi’s future.

Joining us on tonight’s panel:

There are plenty of topics up for grabs this week, including a throw in question from Scott Woodwiss, and there’s even an impromptu engine impersonation competition. It would be a shame to miss out on our panelists fine efforts.

I guess there was less to discuss about this week in the debrief, but lots of people discussing next week in the podpanel.

    Plus, there was engine-gate. :)

Listening back I wonder what people think about the everyone answering every question format. I think the punchier answers people gave because they knew they were going round to everyone kept the pace up.

Who knows what Andy will do next week?

The trip to Lisbon was quite useful although I was stoned out of my mind because I went there straight from the night shift at a hotel. Not that I ever needed to use different substances to act weirdly but this time I felt as if I had been locked inside a dream, I got the camera setting wrong because I didn’t realize what I was doing.

Then it turned out that in order to enjoy the show from the grandstands you had to (pre)order some kind of plastic bracelet via internet so I was left outside on the hill with other hundreds of thousands of unfortunate F1 lovers who suffered under 30º Celsius heat without free drinks and free food.

I’ll complain to RF1 PP because it’s outrageous that members of the Lion family are treated this way, nobody was waving a card with my name or introduced me to di Grassi. Scandal!

Anyway, it was fun but you sort of realize that they use F1 cars as live bait in order to sell new Megane and this hideous Koleos, but it seemed to work because family guys were absolutely drooling & licking this SUV crossover thing or whatever it’s called.

You’ll notice that some pics are not in colour but that was done on purpose, I hope each of you will find something interesting. Cheers, it’s highly likely that I’ll have internet later this evening at home so I’ll drop by.

    trulli yours,

I have to say, I used to like sidepodcast but now, I really love it! The Sidepodpanel is the greatest thing that has happened to Sidepodcast. The shows are incredibly funny and entertaining but on a serious note, what it really showcases is the community sense of Sidepodcast. When I first started listening to Sidepodcast at the end of last season, I liked it as it was a source for F1 news and opinion by some very passionate people but now it is more a sense of belonging to the wider sidepodcast community. It first started with interviews, then quizzes and now a whole show where listeners can be involved in the content generating part and I don’t think any other F1 site gives so much ability to its users.

I used to be one of those silent subscribers of sidepodcast who, although loved the podcasts, rarely participated in any way. But after seeing the strides that sidepodcast is making in trying to instill a sense of community, I will not remain silent any longer. I want to be part of this community too and tell everyone what a great job they are doing. I think it is safe to say that F1 fans can be divided in to two groups, those who belong to the sidepodcast community, and those who do not.

What a fantastic comment! It’s probably a bit rude to respond to a comment (of this nature) on someone else’s site before the owners do themselves, but as a blogger myself, I couldn’t help it because I know how much these comments mean. Big-up Sidepodcast.

if you try double clicking on the what does it say? I know that sometimes if i get very behind with podcasts (i listen to loads) it informs me that it has stopped updating them because I have not listened to them in awhile. Other times it will come up with ‘podcast not found’, which is easily solved by going onto the itunes store and downloading the episode again.

it means i’m in a bit of a sweat desperately trying to migrate f1 minute away from our current web hosts as fast as my fingers will let me.

both of our sites have been down more than they’ve been up this past 24hrs and we just have to get as far away from mediatemple as humanly possible.

hoped to leave it until after the season was over because we really have better things to be doing during such a fantastic climax to the season, but i fear there may not be a website to come home to if we leave it any longer.

apologies for the disruption, we’re trying our bestest :)

Speak up Monis! One of the great things about this group, is that you can participate just as much as you like. It took me a while to turn up in the forums as well. Initially for me it was just so I could understand what was happening in the races because I haven’t learnt italian. And now I can’t seem to turn myself away….
