Live: Marginally More Exciting than I Spy

F1 Debrief has been resting on it’s laurels while we came to terms with the season just gone. Also because we couldn’t fit it in with that Top Gear show returning. Anyway, it’s back, and we’re starting earlier so that everything can go to plan. Just like it always does.

Today we’re catching up with all the news we have missed over the past couple of weeks, and of course getting some feedback as well. Sidepodpanel is scheduled for straight afterwards, although that may change depending on how the time goes and who is around. It’s all very flexible, as always. We’re set to go live at 4pm(ish) GMT. Sorry if it’s a bit later than expected, but we got a little bit busy playing I Spy.

yep. the state of NewSouthWales (NSW) is always looking to steal things from the state of Victoria (where Melbourne is). I think they would do a good job with a night race, but it costs a lot of money as it is. i think the NSW government were interested, took a look at the books, and then kind of went cold on the idea.

ah :( no good. for an example of how bad it is, they ‘fixed’ the one way ring road in town so it was 2 ways. so by the time we get into town and into school it takes 30 mins, instead of the original 10 mins…

They took some spiders and butterflies up in the shuttle. They have some videos of spiders making messy webs because there is no gravity but I have seen or heard nothing of the butterflies so maybe the take off killed them. According to the news late last night one of those spiders is missing.

You need a time when there is no cloud. Also the shorter the sighting time the lower in the sky it will be. If you have hills in that direction and you are close enough to them that can block your view.

They will always be just before sunrise or after sunset so that the sun is under the ISS and reflecting to your position. If everything is perfect you will get two consecutibe orbits but that is rare. Many days you will have no sightings at all because the orbit is not in the right place at the right time.

Okay. Besides the original crappy ending what else did they change from the Director’s Cut to the Final Cut in Blade Runner? ‘Cause the originial ending is way to “weak” for me. I rather put up with the “Unicorn” sence from Director’s.

Yes but i need to remember everything I have ever been blamed for. I know I suggested brewing sidepodbeer on a live show at 3 o’clock ish sidepodtime this morning. Andy didn’t help by sending ‘me’ links to home brew kits and organic something or other. Then ‘me’ suggested sidepodfarming because he wanted to grow his own crops to make the beer from. Personally i think that show would just be too long.

I have to admit to being a bit of a Star Wars geek… *although I will say that Bladerunner is better. ;) *
    what’s Bladerunner?

Good God Lou? Do you watch any movies that have Harrision Ford in them?

he’s the guy who did Indiana Jones right? i’ve watched those films..

No, Lou. Harrison Ford played Henry Jones, Jr. in the movies. It was the dog that was named Indiana….

Well, if you can picture a more cocky version of the the same character in a Western set in Space, you get an idea of him in the Star Wars series.

Now if you can picture either a Bounty Hunter or a Marshal in the future, you have a basic idea of Blade Runner.

He is always popular. Most folk say Genesis was better before he left.

you say that but i only watched them cause my friend felt the need to educate me in the world of great films i seem to have missed… i’d not watched it until about 6 months ago… and i still haven’t seen titanic (and if i have anything to do with it, i wont be watching it any time soon )

You need to to see Titanic just to understand why her Captain went full speed ahead in an area known to to have icebergs. It was to get that lame love-story over as quickly as possible!

I have it on in the background. I can’t believe Luke fell for that trap again. You would think after 30 years he would have figured it out.

True, but by falling into the same trap over and over again, it makes for great mockery in Spaceballs. Care for some Mr. Coffee. Steven?

It was actually 3 movies short. The original plan was to do Episodes 4-6 (the original films) then 1-3(the new stuff) then they were going to do 7-9 but George Lucas says he is not going to make them now.

Oops forgot about quoting italics. I love Spaceballs and practically anything else Mel Brooks made. The Producers is fabulous. Who else would have gotten away with Springtime for Hitler? Blazing Saddles was awesome too.

I think we are now doing sidepodfilms.

    should be these i think:

    - 2nd series of f1 people
    - all of f1 in the world
    - all of forgotten teams
    - all of ancillary f1

interviews are already in the shows, so they’re okay. same with the single quiz.

as for f1 minute… i’d say probably not. but if this works out could we do a separate one?
