Live: I Want a Bigger Bibendum

With an entire day wiped out of our podcasting schedule, we are marvellously behind which means Alex is even more in charge than he was before. Living up to his title as the host, naturally.

We’re in for a fun-filled hour of songs, chatter, predictions and probably talk of food, and we are not allowed to run late because apparently the BBC have something special for their opening VT.

We’ll be going live at 11:10 BST, so make sure you’re in the live comments, as you’ll likely get a mention on the show. See you there!

Live: The Real Reason Fans Don’t Attend the Races

Why would you go all the way to Turkey and watch a race in the empty grandstands when you can stay at home and enjoy an hour of banter from the Sidepodcast Crew and Alex, an hour of build up by the BBC, and then coverage of the whole track?

Here in SPC Towers, we’re more than a little unprepared this week, but I know Alex will keep us under control. If you’ve got your predictions handy, then feel free to share them and we’ll try and read them out on the show.

We’ll be going live at 11:10 BST, and we’re scheduled to run for an hour, but we promise not to spill over into the BBC coverage.

Live: The Jewel in the Parade Lap Crown

The Parade Lap is back and this time we’re celebrating everything cliché as we get you started on this Monaco Grand Prix morning. You may find the odd mention of F1 but with our guest host Alex from SofaF1 joining us, chances are it will be all about the music and the giggles.

We Tremayned on the Debrief last week, so stay tuned to find out what games we can create in this next hour that will also become a Sidepodwide phenomenon.

We’ll be going live at 11:10 BST, and we’re scheduled to run for an hour, but we promise not to spill over into the BBC coverage.

Live: It Starts and Ends With a P

Lo and behold, the long-awaited return of the Parade Lap. It’s fair to say that the future of this show has been, and still is, unknown, but for this week, it is back. We’re bringing in guest host Alex from SofaF1 to help us along the way, and the usual mix of songs and chatter will lead us nicely into the BBC coverage.

I don’t know exactly what’s on the cards for this next hour of fun, but I can say for certain that we will not be baking a cupcake. That’s for the end-of-season show!

We are scheduled to go live at 11:10am BST, and regardless of whether we are on time, we won’t run late, as the BBC coverage should not be missed.

Live: So What are You Baking for the Race?

It’s the last Grand Prix of the season, and we’re hosting a two-hour bumper edition of the Parade Lap as an introduction to the deciding race. However, no one wants to talk about that pesky sport business, we all want to know how the cupcake is going.

For those not in the know, the other half of Sidepodcast, the one that doesn’t know an oven from an iron, promised to bake a cupcake in order to get two regulars onto tonight’s Sidepodpanel. This is where we find out how he got on.

We’ll also have the usual weather forecasts, race predictions, thoughts on qualifying, and chilled out music, to lead us nicely into live commenting the race itself.

We’ll be going live at 2pm GMT, but feel free to make yourselves at home beforehand, and get those cupcake-gate discussions going. See you soon.

The Morning Show for the Night Race

We’re up in time for the Singapore Grand Prix, and because we’re so excited about the first ever night race, we’re going for an extra half an hour. 90 minutes of chatter and music to get you warmed up and ready for the racing action.

With a new track comes plenty to talk about, lots of unknowns: the weather, the track, the marshals, the scenery, and most of all what we have seen so far. We want to hear your thoughts and predictions, visit the Live Commenting Live… Thing (where lots of bugs have been fixed) to join in the streaming fun. We also want your calls, and especially want to encourage Tremayning. I know, I don’t really understand it either, but it sounds like a blast.

It’s All About Breath Control

Time once again for the Parade Lap, a nice chilled out way of starting the race build up. I say chilled out, but with everything going on at the moment, it might be that we talk about more than just waffles this week. Either way, we’ll be live for an hour before the ITV coverage starts in the UK.

We’ve got some good songs lined up, a couple of topics to get through, and of course, the most important thing of all for this morning: weather watch.

There’s a live stream available of the show, although it’s more about the audio than looking at the top of my head.

Hoping For Rain on Our Parade

Here is the first ever Parade Lap show, the brainchild of “me” and / or Steven Roy. We’re going live for an hour before the ITV build up coverage starts (in the UK), hoping to be a nice relaxing way to ease into race day.

We intend to chat for a bit, play some songs, and try and be slightly entertaining as we go about it. This is the first show, so your expectations should be realistic, just as Raikkonen’s will have to be for the race.

We’re live streaming, although it may just be the top of my head for now. We don’t anticipate this being a show you want to watch, just have playing in the background.
